Second Annual SCTK Game Jam!

Thursday, October 24 Monday, October 28 CDT

IDENTITY, EMPATHY, PARALLEL WORLDS!

Come join our Game Jam!

The School of Creative Technologies is hosting its second Game Jam event. Groups will be asked to design an analog or digital game about a “serious” topic. More details about the topic will be revealed to those who applied. Undergrads and grads are welcome to participate.

For those unfamiliar, Game Jams are a popular event where small groups come together to create a brand new game under a significant time crunch. This short sprint is meant to foster creativity and experimentation because there’s no time to second guess!

The CTK Game Jam will take place October 24-28, 2024.

Oct 24: Information about the serious topic is released.

Oct 25: Groups are announced and making begins. Groups are invited to take over CVA 140 starting at 4:30 p.m. and can stay overnight. Food will be provided.

Oct 26: Making continues online (or in person)

Oct 28: Judging! Groups will present their games and there will be a public vote. Best board game and digital game will receive prizes. This will happen in the afternoon, likely around 3 p.m. but time TBA.

You can either sign up as a group or as an individual to be put in a team. Groups should be 4-5 people. We welcome all designers, artists, programmers, writers, composers, and any other type of maker.
