Academic Integrity: Prevention, Detection, and Reporting

Thursday, June 10th
Registration is required

Event Description

What do you do when a student says, “…but I didn’t know I couldn’t copy that?”

Participants will first complete a series of asynchronous modules in ReggieNet exploring how Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities, a part of the Dean of Students Office, engages faculty and students in conversations around academic integrity, and what you (and our students) can expect meeting with our staff. These modules will cover why reporting is critical and how SCCR staff members address these incidents. We will also have a sample meeting video, so you can see what the experience looks like for the student when you’ve made a referral.

During the synchronous Zoom session, participants will explore ways to infuse academic integrity expectations into their assignment instructions and discuss some of the common concerns students and instructors have about this important topic. Additionally, participants will draft and receive peer feedback regarding language for their own assignments and syllabi. We will end with a brief discussion of the other types of support and resources offered by the Dean of Students Office including the Redbird’s Care team, conflict resolution, conflict coaching, and the Dean on Duty. Registration is required by June 10th.

Participants will receive a $100 stipend for successfully completing this course.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
