Event Description

The peoples of the Americas once believed they shared a “spiritual union.” Variously described as partners, neighbors, or as patron-client, this course examines US-Latin American relations in the past, present and future.
Week 1: US-LA relations from 1492 to present; Pan Americanism,
Week 2: Mexico (including NAFTA, immigration, trade, investment, etc.),
Week 3: Brazil,
Week 4: Cuba.

Presented by Michael Weis, Chair and Professor of History, Illinois Wesleyan University.
