Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms are serving as significant sites of political communication throughout the 2016 presidential election cycle. What can we learn about the candidates, their campaigns, their supporters and the overall democratic process by studying the social web? What tools are available for studying social media? Can social media activity predict the election outcome?
