Alternative Summer Break International: Kenya
Event Description
Alternative Summer Break (ASuB) is a 14-day service trip in which participants travel to Kenya to support a local village. This trip focuses on several social issues like education, health, and HIV/AIDS. Learn to become a citizen of the world through strong direct service and reflection, and connect with other students who are looking to make a difference.
Students who are selected to serve on the trip participate in pre-trip meetings throughout academic year to help educate themselves on the language and culture of the community they will be serving.
Students will only be able to participate in ASuB once during their time at ISU either as a student or as a Trip Leader so that more people can enjoy this experience.
ASuB takes place in mid-late May. Students who graduate prior to the trip’s departure cannot participate.
