Event Description

An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen

Adapted & Directed by Myeongsik Jang

SYNOPSIS

Dr. Thomas Stockmann has an inconvenient truth to tell. The town has invested heavily in a bath resort to attract tourists, but test results show that the bathwater is utterly contaminated. The townspeople initially side with Thomas as he challenges his brother Peter, the mayor, to address this problem. However, the public turns against him when they learn that his idealism will put their wealth and prosperity at risk. The scientist is faced with an ethical choice: give in to the people’s demands, or stick to his principles and become their enemy.
