Date:
Tuesday, January 26th
Time:
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Website:

Event Description

Are you working on your allyship and understanding of the advancement of equity and inclusion? It takes more than reposting articles and hashtags or wearing a t-shirt to create real change – for many it requires a cultural shift of understanding. It also takes a collective effort. Join the Illinois State University Alumni Association as we explore together how we can elevate versus appropriate cultural differences.

Led by Rachel (Clark) Gregoire ’09, co-founder of Fam Foolery, we will dispel myths of cultural inferiority and its historical origins, address cultural appropriation in a society that borrows from all underrepresented groups and introduce practical and effective methods for habitually contributing to the advancement of anti-racist work.

This is a free event for all Redbirds! Register by Friday, January 22 online to receive the Zoom link for the virtual event. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged to reserve a spot.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
