Central Illinois Offender Reentry Symposium
We have a terrific day of speakers planned beginning with Director Rodger Heaton as our opening keynote speaker for the event. Director Heaton is Chairman of the Commission on Criminal Justice and Sentencing Reform and serves as the Director of Public Safety and Homeland Security Advisor to Governor Bruce Rauner. From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Heaton served as United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois — the chief federal law enforcement official for 46 counties in central Illinois. His expertise will lay a dynamic foundation for the day to frame many of the issues that our other presenters, panelists and event attendees are addressing and confronting in their professional capacities whether it be through work in the Criminal Justice system, as a service provider, as an advocate or an academic.
Special guest, Illinois State Representative for District 92, Jehan Gordon-Booth will be among our esteemed presenters discussing her efforts and thoughts on reducing the prison population in Illinois.
