Event Description

In their book The Slow Professor: Challenging the Culture of Speed, Maggie Berg and Barbara K. Seeber apply the principles of the Slow movement to the ever-growing challenge of academic productivity. This reading group will meet four times over the summer to discuss how we can apply the Slow philosophy to our own practice to create more opportunities for contemplation in our scholarship, service, and teaching. Additionally, we’ll consider how to model a Slow approach for our own students as they develop their own responses to the frenetic pace of academic life. Participants will receive a free copy of the book. No stipend is available for this event. Registration is required, this group meets on 6/2, 6/16, 6/30, and 7/14 but you only need to register for 6/2.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
