Chicago Suburban #RedbirdImpact with NIFB
Saturday, June 10, 2023 , 9:00 am – 11:30 am CDT
As part of the #RedbirdImpact Month, the Chicago Suburban Alumni Network has teamed up with the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB). By volunteering, the #RedbirdImpact helps more than 71,500 neighbors served by the NIFB each week. Make it a day with Redbird friends and family to give back!
Redbird volunteers will assist with evaluating, sorting, labeling, and packing items for distribution to the community. Be sure to wear an ISU shirt and comfortable close-toed shoes. Volunteers will receive a few ISU swag pieces to take away as appreciation for making an impact.
Space is limited. Those interested in making a #RedbirdImpact can register by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26 online through the NIFB website. Please keep in mind the minimum age to volunteer at NIFB is 8 years old. Questions regarding the event can be sent to network volunteer Jyoti Rao.
Follow the Chicago Suburban Alumni Network Facebook page and make sure to select “See First” under the “Follow” tab to stay updated on news and events.
How else to make a #RedbirdImpact
Alumni and friends can join a Redbird scheduled #RedbirdImpact service project including a special day on campus. Can’t make it to one of those scheduled activities? Register any volunteer hours between now and the end of June to help reach the 450-hour goal. Each time an alum or friend submits hours, they will also be entered to win the summer impact prize that will include items to enjoy a relaxing day outside after working hard to make a #RedbirdImpact.
Redbirds can also make a #RedbirdImpact with a gift to the area of campus they are most passionate about. Find out which areas of campus want to make a #RedbirdImpact by visiting the #RedbirdImpact website.
Those interested in coordinating a service project for their area Redbirds in June can reach out to the Alumni Engagement Office for help with promotions and registrations.
