Civic Engagement Celebration
Tuesday, April 9 , 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm CDT
Illinois State University’s annual Civic Engagement Celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 9, from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center.
Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for light appetizers and the annual Civic Engagement Exhibition. The exhibition will feature poster presentations by faculty, staff, and students and table displays from the Center for Civic Engagement, the Office of Sustainability, the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic Development, and the Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology.
The formal program will begin at 3 p.m. and feature Illinois State University President Aondover Tarhule, Acting Provost Ani Yazedjian, and Vice President of Student Affairs Levester “LJ” Johnson. These guests, along with Dr. Katy Strzepek, director of the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE), and other CCE staff, will announce and present awards to the winners of the University’s 2024 Civic Engagement Awards. At the conclusion of the presentations, additional time will be available for the exhibition.
