Classroom Journey – Explore Jacksonville and the Underground Railroad

Event Description

Journey to Jacksonville, IL, to tour Woodland Farm, the homestead of Jacksonville’s extensive Underground Railroad network, and other local sites. Also enjoy a driving tour of Underground Railroad sites, hearing fascinating stories about the brave men and women of our history. Lunch will be at Lonzerotti?s. Ronald Gifford, Instructional Assistant Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of History at ISU, will join us on the trip to discuss the Underground Railroad nationally and in Illinois.

$60.00 for members | $75.00 for non-members

Cost includes transportation, lunch, site admissions and snack.

Wear comfortable shoes. There will be moderate walking and standing.
