Enjoy guided tours of the Saint Louis Art Museum and Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Located in Forest Park, the Saint Louis Art Museum holds a world-renowned collection of approximately 34,000 objects spanning 5,000 years of history and cultures. One of the finest art museums in the U.S., it features paintings, sculptures, cultural objects, and ancient masterpieces from all corners of the world. Some featured exhibitions will include: Chinese Silk Textiles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties; Day & Dream in Modern Germany, 1914–1945; Botswana-born artist Meleko Mokgosi’s Currents 122; and Hong Kong-based artist Samson Young’s Sonata for Smoke. Learn about the Cathedral Basilica’s rich history, inspiring architecture, and transcendent art. The cathedral is a one-of-a-kind work of art. With its lofty vaults and radiant mosaics, the sheer scale of beauty is a thing of awe. More than a dozen architects’ and artisans’ concepts and works have coalesced in a magnificently well-integrated and harmonious whole.
