Cook with an Executive Redbird Chef: Virtual edition

This winter, Redbirds are in for a cooking treat as Illinois State’s very own Executive Chef Phil Cade shares one of his favorite recipes, eggs Florentine, with a variety of toppings to complete the dish. Hear from Chef Phil as he leads Redbirds step-by-step how to make this delectable dish in their own kitchen as the perfect dish for a winter breakfast, brunch, or a plate to show off to friends.

Phil has been with Illinois State University since 2006. He is responsible for catering for all the Bone Student Center events and catered events throughout campus, as well as the meals served at the University Residence. As executive chef, Phil takes his leadership role seriously and firmly believes he has a critical responsibility to ensure the highest quality food is served to every guest and to articulate a clear vision focused on maintaining excellence as a team.

The virtual event is free to attend. Participants can register now through March 31 at the link above. Questions can be sent to Juliana Nelson, assistant director for Alumni Engagement.

In the following days, once registration is completed, guests will receive the eggs Florentine recipe and a step-by-step video via email to follow along to prepare a new entree to add to winter menus.
