Dive Deeper into Nearpod for Student Engagement

Monday, January 18th
12:00 pm
Registration is required

Event Description

Keeping students engaged in class is on the forefront of instructors’ minds as we continue to engage in pandemic pedagogy. Fortunately, ISU instructors now have the Nearpod interactive teaching-learning tool available to help them achieve their teaching goals.

In this blended workshop, designed as the next step for instructors who have participated in the Nearpod: Getting Started workshop, attendees will participate in the activities to increase their understanding of how Nearpod can be used to engage students.

To begin, an asynchronous Nearpod lesson will provide examples of how to introduce students to Nearpod and review basic examples of activities available in the platform.

During the synchronous session, participants will learn how to use Nearpod activities as pedagogical tools to achieve their learning objectives.  Come prepared with two or three learning objectives for the collaborative activity where participants will use the Collaborate Board in Nearpod to brainstorm which activities will work best for their objectives and develop a plan for using those activities. Registration is required by January 18.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
