Diversity according to South Park and Family Guy by Matt Glowacki

Date:
Tuesday, March 28th
Time:
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Website:
http://studentaccess.illinoisstate.edu/

Event Description

Matt uses pop culture, news media, and of course, Family Guy and South Park clips to demonstrate the opportunities that arise to learn about diversity in everyday life. His interpretation of these popular cultural icons is engaging and encourages a fresh look at life around us. He identifies the ways that these programs breakdown stereotypical attitudes and behavior toward people’s differences.

Matt uses the hidden messages behind family Guy and South Park to illustrate diversity issues in our culture. You’ll leave the event with the knowledge of how diversity motivates and drives the choices and decisions we make every day. You’ll also learn how to motivate your mind as you watch television and learn from, question, and understand what you’re seeing.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
