The Higher Education Administration Ph.D. empowers professionals in higher education to further their careers at the university level. Students will receive training on a variety of topics, including: organization and administrative theory; higher education finance, law, and history; identifying and utilizing appropriate technologies; constituent relations; diversity initiatives; and research practices and distribution. Classes take place four weekends per semester with an online component on Tuesdays. Most participants are part-time students who are employed full time.
The P-21 Administration (CPED) Ed.D. builds capacity in aspiring P-12 leaders through curriculum and research focused on school improvement, equity, ethics, and social justice. Our dynamic coursework is aligned with the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), a 100-institution collaboration that is equipping practitioners for the unique needs of diverse school environments. This program also includes the Superintendent & Chief School Business Official (CSBO) endorsements. Most classes take place on campus on Wednesday evenings. Blended and online delivery is offered for some coursework.
The Leadship, Equity, & Inquiry (LEI) Ed.D. was created for administrative and teacher leaders who aspire to make a positive impact on social justice and equity in education. Our students become effective evaluators and producers of research and advance their careers in P-20 education, educational think-tanks, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. This is a Chicago-based weekend cohort program where students meet four weekends per semester. Candidates work full-time and attend classes part-time. Students may add Superintendent & Chief School Business Official (CSBO) endorsements.
The P-21 Educational Administration M.S. is approved by ISBE and qualifies graduates for positions as principals and assistant principals, or in related or similar positions.
