Gamma Phi Circus Spring Show Tickets ON SALE NOW
Event Description
Come one! Come all! Gamma Phi Circus is coming to Illinois State University’s Redbird Arena to celebrate it’s 90th anniversary year with a showcase you won’t want to miss! Our show theme is “CELEBRATION” and that’s what we will be having.
Clifford “Pop” Horton began Gamma Phi at Illinois State University in 1929 as a fitness and gymnastic performance organization. From half-time games to showcases on campus and on the road, Gamma Phi grew into the circus arts program it is today, still based on “Pop” Horton’s vision and values. With this year’s troupe of performers numbering close to 100, and alumni of Gamma Phi nearing 1,600, we have much to celebrate. Our show this year will pay tribute to the 9 decades of Gamma Phi, and a tip of the hat to the future decades to come.
“Celebration” will feature traditional circus acts and some new and exciting acts we can’t wait for our audiences to see! Be a part of the excitement this milestone circus year and get your tickets now for a spectacular circus event from the longest running collegiate circus in the nation!

Gamma Phi’s main performance takes place every April. It is called the “home show,” a two-hour live performance featuring more than a dozen acts. Gamma Phi Circus troupe members are involved in all aspects of the shows from costumes and choreography to act development and performance. Additionally, members of Gamma Phi are responsible for promoting home shows through print, electronic and social media and class presentations during show month. Performances take place under the Redbird Arena Big Top.
