Guest Artist: Alex Ross, music critic for The New Yorker
Alex Ross, music critic for The New Yorker and Pulitzer Prize nominee for his book, The Rest is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century. Co-sponsored with the College of Arts and Sciences and the English Department, Ross will speak on topics ranging from music’s intersection with social issues and politics to how classical music can remain relevant to younger generations. Following the public lecture, Ross will participate in a students-only Question and Answer session. This event is made possible through grants from the Sage Fund, CTLT, the School of Music, English Department, and College of Arts and Sciences.
