Guest Artist: Augusta Read Thomas Portrait Concert

The School of Music at Illinois State University presents a portrait concert in honor of distinguished guest composer Augusta Read Thomas. Ms. Thomas is one of the most important and widely celebrated American composers working today. She is featured on a Grammy winning CD and is a Pulitzer Prize finalist, has been championed by such luminaries as Barenboim, Rostropovich, Boulez, Eschenbach, Salonen, Maazel, Ozawa, and Knussen, and is a University Professor of Composition at The University of Chicago.
The concert will begin with remarks from the stage by Ms. Thomas herself, followed by performances of several of her solo and chamber works by School of Music faculty.
