Event Description
The ISU School of Music is thrilled to begin Black History Month with a recital by New York City-based mezzo-soprano Patrice P. Eaton and pianist Kyle Walker called Harlem Sings. The concert consists of art songs featuring the poets of the Harlem Renaissance. The composers include: Florence Price, John Musto, Ricky Ian Gordan, Undine Smith Moore, Margaret Bonds and H. LeslieĀ Adams. The featured poets are: Langston Hughes, James Weldon Johnson, Georgia Douglas Johnson, Clarissa Scott Delany and Paul Laurence Dunbar. The artists will participate in a live Q&A with ISU students after the recital, via Zoom.
