International Seminar Series: “Bringing Fishermen to the Center: The Value of Local Knowledge for Understanding and Mitigating Climate Change Impacts on Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania”
Dr. Joan Brehm, professor and chair in the Illinois State University Department of Sociology and Anthropology will present “Bringing Fishermen to the Center: The Value of Local Knowledge for Understanding and Mitigating Climate Change Impacts on Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania” on Wednesday, March 25, from noon – 1 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Old Main Room as part of Spring 2020 International Seminar Series “Local and Global Environments in Conversation.”
This series offers the Illinois State University campus and the Bloomington-Normal community weekly opportunities to learn about a wide range of international topics. Guest speakers are experts in their fields, which include a range of disciplines including cultural, historical, political, social, and scientific topics.
The talks are every Wednesday from noon – 1 p.m. during the semester. These free events are open to the public and include a free buffet lunch.
