The ISU Planetarium Presents Fragile Planet: Earth’s Place in the Universe
Event Description
Illinois State University’s Student Sustainability Committee is hosting its first-ever Sustainability Showcase on Thursday, April 20 from 11 AM-4 PM. In celebration, the ISU Planetarium is pleased to offer “Fragile Planet: Earth’s Place in the Universe,” narrated by Sigourney Weaver.
Showings of “Fragile Planet: Earth’s Place in the Universe” begin at the top of each hour on April 20, starting at 11 AM and running through the end of the Sustainability Showcase. The last afternoon presentation begins at 3 PM, in the Planetarium. Additionally, there is an evening showing of “Fragile Planet” at 7 PM.
All Sustainability Showcase presentations of “Fragile Planet” are free and open to the public. This stunning full-dome program combines scientific visualization with movie-making magic to highlight Earth’s special place in the universe — the only known haven for life.
The ISU Planetarium is located under the white domed roof at the east end of Felmley Hall of Science Annex. Felmley Hall is located on the northeast corner of the ISU campus at the intersection of School Street and College Avenue.
Inexpensive daytime and early-evening parking for the ISU Planetarium is available in the ISU visitor lot, located on Locus Street. For more information, please call the Planetarium’s Skyline at (309) 438-5007 or visit our web site by Googling Illinois State University Planetarium.
