Prior to their lecture-recital performance presentation at the Library of Congress on the Concerts from the Library of Congress Series, musicologists Bashford, Brooks and Magee are joined by musicians Matheson, Vickers, and Duce to explore the contributions of popular songs from the United States, Canada and Britain to the “Allies” of World War I. This is the story of the creation of the “Allied” cultural identity from the distinct contributions of each country.

Presented in association with the Library of Congress exhibitions, “World War I: American Artists View the Great War” and “Echoes of the Great War: American Experiences of World War I.”
