Whether you’re looking to reconnect with old friends or make new ones, this weekend promises to be unforgettable. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the vibrant LGBTQA+ community at Illinois State.
Friday, January 31
6-8 p.m., Meet and Greet: Kick off the weekend with drinks and fun at The Bistro in Downtown Bloomington.
Saturday, February 1
11 a.m.- p.m., Campus Tour & Talk Back: See campus including the new Multicultural Center and hear from fellow Redbirds on the importance of giving and supporting our queer students.
1:30-3:15 p.m., LGBTQA+ Speaker Series: Redbirds will head to the Rotunda for our series featuring award-winning author Rey Spangler ’05, M.S. ’07, and poet, writer and educator Jenna Goldsmith ’08, M.A. ’10. See their complete bios at registration.
4 p.m. and 7 p.m., LGBTQA+ Film Festival: Head to the Normal Theater in Uptown for one or two films that will include time for a talkback amongst audience members. 4 p.m. will feature Chasing Chasing Amy and 7 p.m. will be 1-800-ON-HER-OWN. Cost: $7
9 p.m.-Midnight, LGBTQA+ Soiree: The weekend will come together at the Marriott as we enjoy food, music, and a can’t-miss drag show by alum Sharon ShareAlike ’94, M.F.A. ’98, and the ShareAlike Family. Cash bar available. Cost: $30
