Listening in the Workplace

Knowing how to communicate in the workplace is a key part of successful collaboration. Effective communication can help reduce miscommunication, bolster collaboration, and foster trust among colleagues. The key to having better communication with coworkers is improving your listening skills. While 70 percent of our communication time is spent listening, it does not necessarily mean that we are really hearing and understanding what the other person is saying. By concentrating better and trying harder to relate to the person talking, we can train ourselves to become active, empathetic and understanding listeners.
