Date:
Wednesday, April 5th
Time:
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Event Description

Join ISU Pride and the University Program Board for a free screening of Major!  Following the screening a brief Q&A session will be held with Major herself!  Please also join us tomorrow for a keynote address with Major Griffin-Gracy.

Major is a veteran of the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was incarcerated at Attica months after the 1971 Uprising. Miss Major’s extraordinary life and personal story is one of resilience and celebration that has been historically traumatized and marginalized . Over the past four decades, Miss Major has been emotionally invested in activism that centers transgender civil rights, mobile outreach, AIDS prevention, and fighting the prison industrial complex. Her activism addresses the intersections and complexities of LGBTQ people and the struggles for justice and equity.

Doors Open at 6:30 pm, Capen Auditorium
