Event Description

Your students’ belief in their ability to succeed determines how they approach learning in your course. This session explores the factors that influence whether students dive into difficult topics or tasks, or if they give up too easily. Examine how to overcome “learned helplessness.” Registration is required using the website link, above.

About the series: Motivation is a key factor in helping students to learn. Very little, if any, learning take place if students don’t have a reason to engage with course material. A further challenge: There’s not one method of motivation that works with all students, all the time. This seminar series will look at a variety of motivational theories and explore how they can be used to inspire our diverse community of learners. Attend as many sessions as you can.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
