Music Performance: Bret Schneider

Bret Schneider is a composer and visual artist based in St. Louis, MO. Over the past year, he has been creating compositions for a retrofitted player piano, altered to have the capability for spontaneous algorithmic transmission of live musical expressions from a custom composition system.
At University Galleries, Schneider will give an hour-long performance with this “metapiano.” He will be joined in part by an ensemble of students from ISU’s School of Music.
University Galleries will be hosting Schneider in collaboration with the School of Music and the School of Creative Technologies. The event is free and open to the public.
