This lecture is organized by the Wonsook Kim School of Art Visiting Artists Program.

 

Herman Aguirre is a Mexican American artist born and raised in Chicago, IL. He grew up in the Southside of Chicago where he continues to live and work. He received his BFA (2014) and MFA (2017) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition, he currently teaches in the Painting and Drawing Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was one of eight individuals to be awarded the Leonore Annenberg Fellowship for Performing and Visual Arts. He was also a fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) residency in Provincetown MA. In addition, he is represented by Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago and Portrait Society Gallery in Milwaukee, while continuing to exhibit in various galleries and art fairs throughout the United States.
