Outdoor Leadership Training
Offered through the Adventure Program, this trip is designed to develop essential wilderness skills to do just that. Students interested in camping, hiking, field studies, or outdoor recreation can gain much from this course. Participants will learn a plethora of skills that can set them up for success in settings in your professional career and personal adventures alike. Here are some of the skills that we will develop together:
- How to plan, protect, & cook food in the backcountry
- How to plan, navigate, & travel routes using topographic maps
- How to set up a campsite effectively
- How to anticipate and manage risks that come with weather & the outdoors
No experience is necessary to participate in the trip. You MUST be able to depart no later than 3pm on Friday, 3/29. You MUST have sufficient mid-weight or heavier hiking boots for the trip & MUST attend a Pre-Trip meeting scheduled on 3/26 from 4pm-6pm. Contact us if you have a class conflict with this time.
The cost is $50 for students and includes equipment, meals, transportation, and instruction.
