Printmaking for Redbird alumni
Alumni, family and friends can join the Illinois State University printmaking program to make a vintage Reggie Redbird woodcut. What is it exactly? Woodcut is a printmaking process which involves applying ink to a woodblock and then transferring the ink onto paper. ISU printmaking students and faculty will demonstrate before helping guests pick their woodblock image for this special takehome piece. Guests will select a vintage logo (the ISNU or the “thumbs up” Reggie Redbird) along with a color ink to try their hand at this unique art.
The event is suitable for those eight and older. Cost for the printing is $15, and cost for print and frame is $30. Light appetizers will be provided. Register by calling Juliana Nelson at (309) 438-2495, Monday-Fridays from 8:30-4 p.m. Open until event is sold out.
