Sibling Weekend 2019

Sunday, April 14th 2019

Event Description

Get your favorite siblings to campus for this year’s Sibling Weekend 2019, April 12-14, presented by  Student Alumni Council.

This annual tradition has tons of events happening all over campus (thanks to many campus departments and programs), from sports to movies to free food. And that’s not to mention Gamma Phi’s big Spring Shows and carnival at Redbird Arena. Check out some of the can’t-miss ones below and stay updated on more events through the Sibling Weekend website.

Be sure to use #RedbirdFamily as you post and share the memories you create with your siblings and family.

2019 Gamma Phi Circus

Please join us for the annual Gamma Phi Circus Spring Shows, a Sibling Weekend tradition that features performances by the oldest collegiate circus in the nation. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of Gamma Phi at Illinois State University in 1929 by Clifford “Pop” Horton. So the circus is bringing out all the stops with this year’s “Celebration” theme.

Matinee Carnival

Student Alumni Council welcomes you to its seventh annual pre-show Sibling’s Carnival on the Redbird Arena Concourse, beginning at noon prior to the 1 p.m. Saturday matinee show of Gamma Phi. This popular Sibling Weekend tradition is kid-approved and open to everyone that has a youth ticket to the matinee show. The carnival includes a variety of games, face painters, prizes, and fun for kids of all ages.

Strike Out with Siblings

University Program Board is getting siblings ready for the Saturday Redbird baseball game. We’re talking boom sticks, foam fingers, and a lot of Redbird spirit! Stop by the lawn outside of Tri-Towers from 12:30-2 p.m. for free stadium food, games, crafts, shirts, and giveaways.

Redbird Baseball

Redbird baseball takes on Missouri State all weekend. Take your siblings to Duffy Bass Field over by Tri-Towers to root for our team. Games are Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and are free!

Children’s Discovery Museum

Head to Uptown Normal with your siblings to learn through the power of play at the Children’s Discovery Museum. A discount on tickets is being offered for all Illinois State students. Show your current ISU ID during Sibling Weekend and receive $1 off the ticket prices.

If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer.
