Surviving the surge: Supporting yourself and your students through difficult times
In order to prepare for the upcoming election, the Multicultural Center and the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning are co-hosting a panel discussion to help faculty and staff share their ideas about how to support their students and themselves through difficult times. Dr. Christa Platt will facilitate a panel discussion with Dr. David Adams, Dr. Byron Craig, Angell Howard, and Dr. Katy Strzepek, who will provide examples of trauma-informed healing-centered techniques that can support student, faculty, and staff wellness. The panel will also amplify student suggestions noted in the Campus Climate Report and Political Climate Study. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their concerns about the election and will be invited to develop plans for how they can support themselves and their students.
