Serving the Community and Developing Student Leadership: Alternative Spring Breaks at ISU
Dr. John Baldwin, Professor of Communication, will give a talk entitled, “Serving the Community and Developing Student Leadership: Alternative Spring Breaks at ISU” at the University Club at 4:30 p.m. Friday February 8 in the Founders Suite the Bone Student Center. He will discuss the participation of ISU students in the Living Lands and Waters project that cleaned the shores of the Mississippi River as part of Alternative Breaks activities. Co-Presenters include: Annjanette M. Weaver, Coordinator, Student Volunteer Opportunities, Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning and Brett Werner-Powell, Graduate Student.
They will show a short video and have a PowerPoint that will look at the experience through three windows–a student perspective, a faculty perspective, and an administrative perspective (that looks beyond the Living Water trips to also describe the other types of trips students are going on).
All faculty, staff, annuitants and ISU community members are welcome to join us at the University Club from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. this Friday in the Founders Suite in the Bone Student Center. You need not be a University Club member to attend. Additional information about U-Club events and activities can be found at our website. Continued program support is provided by the Office of the ISU Provost and President. In addition, snacks and liquid refreshments are available at each meeting.
If you will need special accommodations, please contact the event organizer at http://uclub.illinoisstate.edu/.
