Event Description

Barb Dallinger, Associate Director for Event Services and Dining, and Dave Bentlin, Administrative Assistant to the President, will give a talk entitled, “Where do you turn when your family is no longer there for you?”, at 4:30 p.m. at the University Club in the Old Main Room in the Bone Student Center.  Marriage equality. An openly gay presidential candidate. All the signs seem to point toward equality for the LGBTQ+ population.  Then why are our students continuing to lose the financial and emotional support of their families?  The LGBTQ+ Student Support Fund provides emergency financial assistance for students who lose the financial support of their family due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Find out what this fund has been doing lately.

All faculty, staff, annuitants and other members of the University community are welcome to join us at the University Club from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Old Main Room in the Bone Student Center. You need not be a University Club member to attend. Additional information about U-Club events and activities can be found at our website. Continued program support is provided by the Office of the ISU Provost and President. In addition, snacks and liquid refreshments are available at each meeting.
