150 Years in The Making: Powell Artifacts Return Home
Paul Meister, Coordinator of Academic Services in the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, with present a talk at 4 p.m. at the University Club in the Founders Suite in the Bone Student Center. Please Note: The talk will begin at 4 p.m. to accommodate the speaker’s busy schedule.
Famed explorer John Wesley Powell, Civil War Veteran and first person to successfully navigate the Grand Canyon, has strong ties to Illinois State University and the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. Learn the fascinating story of how several of the many artifacts that Powell collected were recently repatriated to the Natural History Museum of Utah.
All faculty, staff, annuitants, graduate students and other members of the University community are welcome to join us at the University Club from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Founders Suite in the Bone Student Center. You need not be a University Club member to attend. Additional information about University Club events and activities can be found at our website (uclub.illinoisstate.edu). Continued program support is provided by the Office of the ISU Provost and President. In addition, snacks and liquid refreshments are available at each meeting.
