Societal and Economic Benefits of Pennycress
Dr. John Sedbrook, Professor of Genetics, School of Biological Sciences, will give a presentation entitled, “The Societal and Economic Benefits of Pennycress ”, at 4:30 p.m. at the University Club in the Faculty/Staff Commons in the Bone Student Center. This research nicely demonstrates how we can bring modern genetic tools to bear in rapidly domesticating pennycress from a weed into a legitimate crop to address a number of societal issues including food security, environmental degradation, and climate change. You need not be a University Club member to attend.
Everyone from the Illinois State University community is welcome including all staff, faculty, annuitants, graduate students and other members of the University.
