Illinois State University’s Wonsook Kim School of Art is honored to annually host the Visiting Artist Lecture Series. This series provides near weekly opportunities to learn from talented artists from all around the globe. Previously, these lectures were held in University Galleries in Uptown Normal. Due to current circumstances, the Spring 2021 iteration of the Visiting Artist Series will occur entirely on Zoom. This event series is free and open to the public. 

Artist Statement from the featured artist, Alex Chitty:

“Alex Chitty was born in Miami, FL 1979 and is a transdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Recent exhibitions include, Becoming the Breeze: Alex Chitty and Alexander Calder at the MCA, Chicago, IL, State of the Art II, Crystal Bridges Museum of America Art, Bentoville, AR, and In the Hot Seat, KMAC Museum, Louisville KY. Chitty is represented by Patron Gallery in Chicago. She earned a BFA from Smith College in Biology, Art, Education in 2001 and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Printmedia in 2008.”
