What to Do with THAT Degree

Date:
Wednesday, October 19th 2016
Time:
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Event Description

All majors are invited to attend to learn about career options in their major. Illinois State alumni who graduated with a major from the College of Arts & Sciences and who work in various industries will participate in speed information interviews with students. They will share about their experiences and transferable skills that can be applied while working in any industry.
Speed information interviews where students can learn more about a particular job, industry or employer will also be held. This also gives students the opportunity to meet alumni and learn about the various career options in their major.

A career exploration fair will immediately follow the speed information interviews where employers from a variety of industry clusters will highlight the diversity of employment opportunities available for Arts and Sciences majors and other majors as well. Students will informally talk with employers to learn how their skill sets and academic background match employer’s needs.

Students will be able to identify transferable skills, analyze their interests, match potential careers, and recognize Career Center resources which assist students in career exploration.

Reservations are required. Register at CareerCenter.IllinoisState.edu/WTDWTD. Be sure to view the No-show Policy at CareerCenter.IllinoisState.edu/NoShowPolicy before registering.
