
Martin Atkins Public Talk – “From post punk to industrial music – a look at how Chicago became the center”

On Tuesday, March 25, legendary Grammy-winner and multifaceted innovator Martin Atkins will give a public talk, titled “From post punk to industrial music – a look at how Chicago became the center” – and subtitled, “A Blueprint for Chaos.”

Martin Atkins’s 40+ years in the music business span across genres,
borders and industries. He was a member of Public Image Ltd and Killing
Joke. Martin founded industrial supergroup Pigface, alongside Bill Reiflin,
and has contributed to Nine Inch Nails (for which he has a Grammy),
Ministry, and many more bands. Martin is the founder and owner of The
Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music in Chicago, Invisible Records
(est. 1988), the author of Tour:Smart, Welcome To The Music
Business…Y ou’re F*cked!, Band:Smart, and is the Music Industry Studies
Coordinator at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. Martin is also a
producer, drummer, documentary filmmaker, DJ, and father of four.
Whatever the future of the music business is, you can pretty much bet that
he’ll be in the middle of it!
