SWAT General Meeting
Wednesday, December 4 , 3:30 pm – 4:50 pm CST
The Student Wellness Ambassador Team (SWAT) is an RSO composed of students from different backgrounds who share a passion for health, wellness, advocacy, and civic engagement. SWAT members are trained by Health Promotion and Wellness staff to act as credible resources for fellow students in regards to a variety of issues related to overall well-being. SWAT provides members with an inclusive and supportive social circle, skill-building and resume building experiences, and an abundance of leadership opportunities.
In addition to attending weekly meetings to engage with a variety of wellness issues, SWAT members can volunteer to help facilitate educational and interactive presentations (workshops) on a number of health topics. They can also volunteer to help staff ISU’s wellness gazebo, known as the “GSpot,” in which they provide students with free wellness materials, such as condoms and lubricants. Other volunteer opportunities and social activities for SWAT members to participate in occur each semester.
SWAT members meet on Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. in McCormick Hall, room 262. You are still welcome to join if you need to arrive late or leave early for other priorities. You can also get involved with SWAT by participating in SWAT volunteer and social opportunities.
